The main aim of the sign-up page is to create a visually exciting and aesthetically pleasing message which highlights the absolute best that the cite has to offer, it does this by making the words pop out of the screen, using complementary or harmonious colours while simultaneously making them legible in certain directions. In the picture the words are bold, and the diagrams are blue, set in a background of carefully selected images that are orange and yellow. This is smart colour selection, which is visually pleasing. The direction of the pictures in the background are moving in an upward direction, mimicking success, this is also evident in the size of the circles which decrease in size through the visual journey, and the images within them amplify the notion of an easy game, or and easy journey to a higher ranking, or to the winner’s podium. The subtle placement of images, the careful selection of font, and use of vocabulary and colour, are advertising techniques designed to persuade a bigger percentage of the cites viewers to sign up, and thus generate more revenue for the business.
