Colour & Design

The colour scheme of GuruShots is selected with the user in mind. Colour is a powerful tool in the web designer’s arsenal, and it can mean the difference between creating a comfortable and enjoyable user experience or an experience which will ensure the user does not hang around on the cite for long. GuruShots uses high contrast colours in the sign-up page, with high contrast videos. This is to create a sense of professionalism. They incorporate colour into the text with key words and phrases enlarged and highlighted in blue. These are unique to the game and are designed to attract new users. Words like Community, Exhibited, $800k in prizes, “Sign up for Free”, GuruShots presents the ranking system on the cite in a film laurel format, with the testimonials from players and how amazing they think it is.

Although the sign-up page has little in terms of external links, it does provide links to the IOS and android apps via the Google Play, and App Store. GuruShots further attracts participants and potential customers with carefully placed images of people from every demographic, all smiling and taking pictures. GuruShots also understands that not everyone is a professional photographer, so they also include images of people taking images with phones, this is visual information showing the user that the game is open to everyone.(The Importance of Colour in Web Design | Tictoc Digital)
